Reacting to various incidents in Moraca Sports Center and Belgrade Arena as Buducnost VOLI and Partizan Mozzart Bet opened 1-0 leads in the Semifinals of the AdmiralBet ABA League Playoffs 2025, the league announced several disciplinary actions.
Both games were played on Monday, with visiting Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet and Dubai on the losing end to start a best-of-three series.
On Wednesday, the decisions of disciplinary judge Hrvoje Vidan went from closing part of the stands in the next home game of the Podgorica outfit to a three-game suspension on Nikola Kalinic of Zvezda and a one-game suspension on Isiaha Mike. In addition, fines were issued to Buducnost and the two players.
Per the press release: “Due to insufficient organization, fans throwing hard and soft objects on the court and using the pyrotechnics as well as lasers and fans insulting the visiting team and third persons, the ABA League Disciplinary Judge Hrvoje Vidan made a decision to sanction Budućnost VOLI.
Based on the articles 1, 3, 4, 5, 7.2, 9, 12, 13, 28.1 f), 28.1 i), 28.2 h), 28.2 g), 28.2 f), 29.1 and 29.2 of the ABA League Disciplinary Code, Crvena zvezda Meridianbet is sanctioned by:
• Fine in amount of 40.000 €
• Closing part of the stands for the next one game in the AdmiralBet ABA League named: (i) 1L; (ii) 3L; (iii) 3D; (iv) 4L; (v) 4D; (vi) 6L; (vii) 6D; (viii) 7L; (viii) 7D; (ix) 8L; i (x) 8D with an exception of the “svečana loža”, (xi) seats on the assembly stand, behind the basket, right next to the tunnel and (xii) courtside seats directly behind the baskets, as shown in the picture below, marked with a blue colour.
Due to committing violence towards the fans, and committing a technical foul, the ABA League j.t.d. Disciplinary Judge Hrvoje Vidan made a decision to sanction Crvena zvezda Meridianbet player Nikola Kalinić.
Based on the items articles 1., 3., 4., 7.1., 8, 9, 10., 12., 13., 17., 18., 26.1. a), 26.2. b), 27. 1 and 27.2 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Disciplinary Code, Nikola Kalinić is sanctioned by:
• A ban from appearing in the first next three AdmiralBet ABA League games, starting with the Semifinals Round 2 game;
• Fine in amount of 100 €.
Due to lack of respect demonstrated towards the official person, the ABA League j.t.d. Disciplinary Judge Hrvoje Vidan made a decision to sanction Partizan Mozzart Bet player Isiaha Mike.
Based on the items articles 1., 3., 4., 7.1., 8, 9, 10., 12., 13., 17., 26.2. b) and 27.2 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Disciplinary Code, Isiaha Mike is sanctioned by:
• A ban from appearing in the first next AdmiralBet ABA League game, meaning the Semifinals Round 2 game;
• Fine in amount of 2,000 €.”
In Belgrade and Dubai, both Game 2 affairs will be played on Thursday. If any series progresses to Game 3, the deciding contests will follow on Sunday.
