Five preparation games were officially added to the schedule of the senior national team of France on Friday.

The French Federation of Basketball announced friendly contests versus Greece, Spain, Great Britain, and Montenegro, on the way to the EuroBasket 2025.

The team coached by Frederic Fauthoux launches a training camp on July 24. Upon medical evaluation of called-up players and team practices, a series of prep games starts with Montenegro in Mouilleron-le-Captif’s Vendespace on August 4. A clash with Great Britain in Pau follows on August 8. The final tests feature Spain and Greece, specifically Spain in Badalona on August 14 and in Paris on August 16, and a visit to Athens to face Greece and potentially Giannis Antetokounmpo on August 24.

From the Greek capital directly to Katowice, Les Bleus are scheduled to face Belgium, Slovenia, Israel, Poland, and Iceland, seeking one of the four Group D tickets to the Round of 16 and the knockout stage in Riga. The preliminary round will be played between August 28 and September 4. The countries moving from pool play to single-elimination games will battle from September 6 until a gold medal game on September 14.

The list of players to become available for Fauthoux is pending. Headlining several question marks, Victor Wembanyama is expected to sit out the major FIBA tournament.

The host of the Olympic Games 2024 last summer, France captured silver after reaching the championship game and falling to the United States.
