Before focusing on the EuroBasket 2025 and the roster for head coach Frederic Fauthoux, the French Federation of Basketball released a preliminary list of 58 players for the next international tournaments from the approaching EuroBasket to the Olympic Games 2028.
The extended Team France roster was announced by FFBB on Tuesday, but is expected to change over the next few seasons based on the performance of potential candidates at the club level.
“The Team France project has proven itself for eight years now and is an illustration of the significant talent pool in French basketball,” noted Fauthoux, “My technical staff and I have had extensive discussions to update Team France, and the many uncertainties surrounding international calendars make it necessary to create a broad group that I am sure will evolve.”
“French basketball is aware of frequently missing NBA and EuroLeague players. The performance, involvement, and talent of the players in other leagues around the world are essential to the success of Les Bleus,” the selector added, “I hope that this Team France will be a source of motivation for those who are part of it today, as well as for those who aspire to join it.”
