Beşiktaş Fibabanka’s experienced guard Berk Uğurlu has officially confirmed he will remain with the club for another season.
Speaking on HT Spor, the 27-year-old emphasized the importance of continuity after a strong year for both himself and the team.
“I spoke with the coach and the club; I’ll continue at Beşiktaş next season. I’m very happy about that,” Uğurlu said. “After a season like this, when we’ve gained momentum and Coach Alimpijević has shown great trust in me, it would’ve been nonsense to go elsewhere.”
With Beşiktaş making waves in both domestic and European competitions, Uğurlu believes the team is poised for more.
“The coach is hungry for success and said we’ll go all in to win a European cup next year. That’s what we all want.”
The Turkish international also reflected on the broader development of local talent, encouraging more domestic players to seek opportunities abroad. He acknowledged that a future move overseas could be in the cards for him too — especially with another strong European season.
Uğurlu highlighted the demanding standards set by head coach Dušan Alimpijević, drawing parallels with the intensity of Željko Obradović.
“Their aggressiveness and drive are very similar. Alimpijević’s reactions keep us sharp — if he’s not yelling or pointing something out, it means you’re not in his plans.”
For now, though, Berk Uğurlu is locked in for another run with Beşiktaş, aiming to build on a successful campaign and lead the club to even greater heights.
