Zalgiris Kaunas has secured the services of Deividas Sirvydis for the long term, signing the 24-year-old guard/forward to a new “2+1” contract that could keep him at the club through the end of the 2027–28 season.
Sirvydis, who made his EuroLeague debut this past season, averaged 8.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game while shooting 51.5% from two-point range and 38.8% from beyond the arc. In the domestic Betsafe-LKL competition, he has contributed 8.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per contest.
Following a solid first year in Kaunas, both sides opted to continue the cooperation, with the new deal removing a previously existing exit clause. Zalgiris’ sports director Gediminas Navickas emphasized the importance of continuity and expressed confidence in Sirvydis’ long-term potential.
“Many forget that this was Deividas’ first season in the EuroLeague. He’s already shown that he can compete at this level, and we see him growing into a key contributor in the coming years,” Navickas said.
Sirvydis himself noted that the environment in Kaunas has helped him settle quickly and sees staying with Zalgiris as an opportunity to further develop within a familiar system.
