It’s not breaking news that Tornike Shengelia has agreed on a deal to join Barcelona, and his transfer will become official shortly. But the Catalan team would like a close teammate of his to join him, too.
It’s the case of Will Clyburn, who has engaged in negotiations with Barcelona, according to Eurohoops sources. However, the financial gap in the talks so far is significant, and no deal seems to be imminent.
Earlier in the day, the Catalan journalist Oscar Herreros reported that the American forward emerged as an option for Joan Penarroya’s team to replace the departing Jabari Parker, set to join Partizan.
Eurohoops sources confirm that Barcelona and Will Clyburn have engaged in negotiations. However the financial gap in the talks so far is significant and no deal seems to be imminent.

Will Clyburn’s first season with the black-and-white team was full of ups and downs. Averaging 13.8 points and 4.7 rebounds in the EuroLeague, he struggled to make an impact outside of Italy.
The American forward, previously in Russia with CSKA Moscow and Turkiye with Anadolu Efes, was sidelined for a vast period of time with an injury to the plantar fascia of his left foot.
With the Italian team not able to reach either the EuroLeague Play-Ins or the EuroLeague Playoffs, Virtus Bologna focused on the Italian Championship, winning the 17th Scudetto in the club’s history.
