Rytas Vilnius had time to recover during the national team and domestic league break, as they got eliminated early in the season from the King Mindaugas Cup contention.
Returning to Basketball Champions League duties, aiming to make a statement after losing on Gameday 2 to last year’s winners Unicaja, they had a comfortable 98-74 win over Manisa.
RJ Cole had 23 points and 7 assists coming off the bench. Overall, the Lithuanian team scored 53 points from non-starters, including a surprising 15-point effort by Ignas Sargiunas.
The BCL Regular Season MVP Gytis Radzevicius had yet again another solid game at 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the rim, Steven Enoch added 11 points and 9 rebounds.
Chris Chiozza (21 points and 8 assists) was the best one on Manisa. The Turkish team, which can’t count anymore on Saben Lee who moved to Olympiacos, is still winless after three appearances.
With this victory, Rytas Vilnius improved their record in Group J to 2-1. In the other matchup of the group earlier on Wednesday, Galatasaray shockingly beat Unicaja Malaga.
