Among the whole American landscape, the Toronto Raptors have been one of the most active clubs in the 2025 NBA free agency, at least speaking of deals with European players.

Not only has Sandro Mamukelashvili agreed on a two-year deal with the Canadian franchise, but there’s another player born and raised in Europe who will continue in Toronto.

It’s the case of another former San Antonio Spurs player like Jakob Poeltl, who’s set to stay with the Raptors on a four-year, $104 million contract extension with the franchise through 2029-30, according to Shams Charania from ESPN.

The highly informed journalist also reported that the Austrian center “will pick up his 2026-27 player option at $19.5M and add three additional years to his deal.”

In the 2024-25 season, the 29-year-old player averaged career-high numbers in several statistics.

Jakob Poeltl put up 14.5 points and 9.6 rebounds this past season, shooting 63.0% from the field in 29.6 minutes of playing time per game.
