After trailing for four minutes, Besiktas Fibabanka recovered with 17 straight points and did not look back en route to a win, 98-77, over Fenerbahce Beko in Istanbul’s Basketball Development Center.
A brilliant showing in Game 3 reduced the deficit in the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi Finals to 2-1 on Saturday.
Comfortably avoiding a 3-0 hole in a best-of-seven series, captain Yigit Arslan set a new personal best in the 2024-25 journey with 22 points behind 7/10 field goals, including five three-pointers, alongside seven rebounds and six assists. Jonah Mathews tallied a game-high 25 points with 6/11 from the field. Uros Plavsic added 16 points.
Early in the second half, 29-year-old Berk Ugurlu was forced to an early exit with a right ankle injury, after putting in seven points. Also, Kelan Martin remained out for head coach Dusan Alimpijevic.
For the reigning Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champions, Wade Baldwin IV and Devon Hall shared a team-high 14 points, and Marko Guduric had 13 points. Jilson Bango, Bonzie Colson, Dyshawn Pierre, Sertac Sanli, Scottie Wilbekin, and Arturs Zagars were unavailable.
Staying in the same Istanbul venue, Game 4 follows on Monday.
